How does route optimization work in MakeRoutes?
MakeRoutes solves the Traveling Salesman Problem: once you add at least 2 stops and tap Optimize, it reorders them into the most efficient sequence, minimizing total travel time or distance. It uses OpenStreetMap data and the OSRM routing engine.
Which countries does MakeRoutes work in?
MakeRoutes provides maps and routing worldwide using OpenStreetMap, with its best address-search coverage in Spain. The interface is available in English and Spanish.
Can I open my route in Google Maps?
Yes. After MakeRoutes optimizes your route, one tap opens it in Google Maps for turn-by-turn navigation. MakeRoutes plans and orders the stops; Google Maps handles the live driving directions.
Is MakeRoutes available on iPhone and Android?
Yes. MakeRoutes runs in any web browser at makeroutes.com and as free native apps on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). The same features are available on all three.
Is MakeRoutes private? Does it track me?

What is the difference between fastest and shortest?
Fastest minimizes total driving time; shortest minimizes total distance. Pick fastest to save time on the road, or shortest to save fuel.
Does MakeRoutes work offline?
MakeRoutes needs an internet connection to search addresses and optimize routes, since it uses online maps and routing services. Full offline route planning is not currently supported.
